A Savior's Complex
Mister Segalink is a very tiny speck compared to what this massive revolution is turning out to be.
“Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, Moses, my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all these people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.” - Joshua 1:1-2 KJV
Segun Awosanya, AKA Segalink has been popularly known as a man who saves young people who have been wrongfully detained by the Nigerian Police. This has been the case for a few years, and from the bottom of our hearts, we are very grateful for all the help he has rendered.
The thing is, right now, we don’t just want it to be one person or a select few to save people from the Nigerian Police. We want the police service to be good enough not to need saving from. Na for here everything burst my dears.
It looks like Segalink has been enjoying being the sole hero in this #EndSars issue and is displeased with the way things have been going since the protests started. The youth have said they do not want a leader and the voice of the people is one but the distinguished Sega is not having it.
He is desperately trying to remain in the limelight and be seen as the Author and finisher of the #EndSars movement. He has even gone as far as taking interviews and meetings to represent “the people”. Nobody sent him work.
This morning, on Wednesday the 14th of October 2020, the entire city of Twitter ng woke up to a shocking thread from mister Segalink where he poured out his heart and made it known to the people what was making him boil. This thread could be confused for something written by a four-year-old throwing a tantrum. Read for yourself below.
He even went as far as calling the feminist.co group who have been on top of the situation since day one of the protests and have been so helpful in making things run smoothly a cultist group.
At this point, we have to continue the cause without mister Segalink as it has become bigger than him. He is a very tiny speck compared to what this massive revolution is turning out to be, and we cannot afford to allow him to cause division and break our voice simply because he wants to be a hero by force.
We know you started it sir, but you can take a sit now. We will take it from here.
boom! perfectly said
It was so disappointing to watch people centre their egos in this struggle.
