He who laughs last, laughs best.
October 14th, 2020 and Day 7 of #endSars protest started on an unpleasant note as Segun Awosanya aka Segalink tried to divert his movement from others. This reaction was in response to a zoom call that was held in his absence. He also accused the women frontliners of the protests of seeking attention and manipulating the government. He described the feminist coalition group as a cult group.
This was to the uttermost dismay of many Nigerians, some described it as clout chasing. Many were disappointed because he was a figure in whom
lot of young Nigerians looked up to and he had helped solve arrests by SARS. It is undeniable that he had been a great help even at dead hours at night.
The whole scenario didn’t alter protests at different convergence points.
The day ended on a good note as Jack Dorsey the CEO of twitter tweeted #endSars in response to a newsletter byTechCabal. This sprung hope in heart of many protesters online and offline.
He further urged people to donate via bitcoin. This announcement sent the site down in few minutes . Notion being the website host had to create another link due to the crash that had happened.
The highlight of the day was the verification of FK Abudu, feminist Coalition, Mochivious and Adetolaov’s twitter accounts. Maybe he who laughs last, lasts best.
