60 years in coma: The rise of Nigerian Youth
Some moons after she celebrated her 60th Independence in the absence of freedom and justice, Her brave youth decided to bury their silence with a peaceful protest against Nigerian Police brutality. Beyond the walls of twitter, we proceed with placards inscribed with just two words “END SARS”. We raised our placards until the strength of our cardboards were exhausted, Nevertheless, the droplet of our of tears and sweats passed the message of a peaceful man to the Old skins that refused to shed off for

into the Police Academy, they exchanged the “purposed dream of protecting the Nation” with “their thirst for riches and authority”, expressing their shock at the breath of poverty over their salary, they turned to extorting civilians, coupled with the beastly attitude of ending the lives of
Comfortably chewing their cuds, the old skins sat on the throne built with the sweat of honest men as they sailed through the news of our demands without empathy. Nevertheless, we tamed our anger and still maintained the cause: To protest, PEACEFULLY. On the 11th of October, 2020 It became obvious to the country that all arms of the serving Government answers to the whistle of just one man. Some moment into the afternoon of the day, we heard from a whistled official that our demands have been met. While some of us celebrated the news, we came to our senses to deliberate on the announcement, we doubted if the news was as true as Nigerian Corruption, that same evening ushered in the full moon that brought the were wolves of the Force. Tears rolled down our eyes as we realized what we were in for is beyond the strength of our placards BUT our rigidity, our unity, cooperation and the stream of our sweat; all in the context of a peaceful protest. Our sweats roared like a lion, yet all we were fed were stale news and feedback from the suppressed press of the Country; Let it be known that the Indigenous Television and Radio station united against her own, denied her own the right to hear the truth and be heard. We will forever remember this. We marched forward as we noticed no answer coming our way. Extending a peaceful hand, we knocked their doors. With the last strength of an oppressed youth, we beckoned for answers to the questions that should have been asked by our fathers. PEACEFULLY craving for an open door, barracks were let loose as our nightmare crept into daylight, Not minding the tunes of war the government is playing, we refused to dance and still stayed glued to the cause: “PEACEFUL PROTEST” As the sun changes it’s position on the 11th of October, 2020. The oppressed stood firm as bullets started admitting protestants into the journey of no return. FOR THIS CAUSE, WE HAVE RECORDED STREAMS OF SWEATS AND TEARS, WE WILL KEEP SWEATING TILL OUR DEMANDS ARE MET.
