Everybody has been talking about the most touching aspects of the protests to them. For the first time in a long while, a lot of people finally have hope that Nigeria can work again.
For some, it was the fact that two days ago, 17th of October, 2020, a disabled lady came out to join the protests despite her condition.
Her hope of walking properly anytime soon was restored after an image of her joining the protests in Abuja with her crutches went viral.
It was suggested by Aproko Doctor that a prosthetic leg be immediately arranged for her so that she can at least function properly again, especially because she has been unemployed since her incident in 2013.
Guess what guys?
Barely 4 hours after the donation link was put up, more than 4 million naira was raised for the essence of giving this lady her motion ability.
Yes, I know. I am not crying, you areā¦so, take a moment.
Due to this over spill, another disabled man from the protest scenes will be able to get the necessary aid he needs.
The narrative for Nigerians has changed. We are beginning to see the humanity we were once afraid was lost because of our leaders. We are seeing an uprising where no one is left behind despite the extenuating circumstances.
Just the other day at the Lekki Tollgate, about 2 million naira was raised for an aged woman so that she never has to sell groundnut on the streets again.
She wore a yellow top with tradermoni inscribed on it and tied a wrapper below her top.
No one gave too much thought to her clothes until a hilarious attempt was made by the APC team this morning to steal the glory that can never be theirs.
As usual, Nigerians had a lot to tell them. Imagine the audacity.
Slowly, we are taking back our country because those people in power had enough time before now to fix up.
This fight has only just begun but in the midst of all of it, I am glad that a lot of people are getting the compensation, closure, contributions, and commendations they deserve. On the far end, however, confusion, cowardice, controversy, and condemnation awaits.
If the shoe fits, wear it.
